Here visitors can learn about the Battle of Crysler's Farm, an important battle in the War of 1812 that halted the November 1813 invasion of Canada, through an audio-visual re-enactment and exhibits. A jail is not typically anyplace you want to visit when you’re out and about enjoying a carefree day; but when you visit Cornwall’s Historic Quarter you just need to experience the Historic Cornwall Jail. Built in 1834, the jail operated until 2002 when the Ministry of Correctional Services closed the facility when newer, larger facilities in major cities came about. There are stories of prison life from the point of view of the guards and the inmates. You'll also learn about escapes & maybe even a ghost story or two.

The St. Lawrence Recreation Path provides a scenic route for non-motorists along the St. Lawrence River from the City of Cornwall in the east, to the Long Sault Parkway and Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary, through Upper Canada Village Heritage Park and on to the Village of Morrisburg. In the west, it runs alongside the magnificent 1000 Islands Parkway.
